Is it ever right for one person to decide that another must die?

Deborah Orr writes very ardently in favour of the view that Frances Inglis killed her son for the right reasons, but that it was still the wrong thing to do. She argues against the custodial sentence that Inglis was given (she served 6 years), but says it is never right for one person to decide that another must die.
