Massimo Pigliucci uncovers some of the mysteries of intuitive thinking in his book “Answers for Aristotle” . Scientists usually shy away from this sometimes hard to define form of cognition. Pigliucci argues that intuition is a version of unconscious, quick reasoning that you can get better at. He also states that it is domain specific, meaning that some people can be incredibly inuitive in a field in which they are experienced, but not so inuitive in other domains.
