Is this serious or not? Does surface similarity between the subconscious outcomes (Graffitti removal) and “Modern Art” mean that it becomes Art? Is Graffitti removal Art because this claim has been made? Does it matter who makes the claim? Are there three separate sub-genres of Graffitti Removal Art or is it a ‘false’ classification?
“I don’t think that scratching is an instrument”
As an afterthought to my Hall Session on Art & Plagiarism I thought I would post this. DJ Revolution uses a debate around whether hip hop, with its dependance on scratching and sampling, is a valid form or music and comparable to classical music, as a part of one of his musical pieces. I like the quote “If I edit a highlight reel of the super bowl it doesn’t mean I am a football player!” What do you think – valid argument or fallacy?
